An e-bike crash has left a Patriot Oaks Academy student in life-threatening condition. Long Leaf Pine Parkway in St. Johns County is currently shut down.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office is on scene of an e-bike crash that occurred in front of Patriot Oaks Academy.

A spokesperson for St. Johns County Fire Rescue Department said that one child has been transported in life-threatening condition. They say that the call came in around 3:30 p.m.

A spokesperson for the St. Johns County School District has confirmed it was a student of Patriot Oaks Academy that was hit just outside the school. In a message sent to parents from the principal, they say, “We appreciate everyone’s care, well wishes, and attention to our school community. As many of you are aware, there was an accident in front of the school at the end of the day. We do not have any additional information to share. We ask that you and your families continue to support one another and remain united as a community.”

The district also said tonight’s basketball game versus Trout Creek has been canceled.

According to SJSO, all lanes of Long Leaf Pine Parkway surrounding Patriot Oaks Academy is shut down. They are asking drivers to avoid the area.
