POMPANO BEACH, Fla. — Fire rescue personnel responded to a collision involving a Brightline train and a scooter rider on Thursday afternoon in Broward County.

A Brightline train had stopped on the tracks shortly after 1:30 p.m. near East Copans Road and North Dixie Highway in Pompano Beach.

Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies also responded and remained at the intersection at 1:35 p.m.

There was crime scene tape around the scooter. Fire rescue personnel reported taking the scooter rider to Broward Health North as a “trauma alert.”
