Syd Kitson has been appointed to the boards of Tampa Electric and Peoples Gas, where his experience as an innovator will provide valuable insight.
Kitson is the chairman and CEO of Kitson & Partners and a nationally recognized leader in innovative, sustainable development, including Babcock Ranch, the nation’s first solar-powered town.
He previously served as chair of the Florida Chamber of Commerce and the State University System of Florida, bringing deep experience in business, policy and public service. Kitson’s leadership and commitment to sustainable growth are expected to inform the utilities’ ongoing service and strategic efforts.
His appointment was effective Feb. 4.
