Officials urge residents to use caution in the area of Ravenwood Drive as first responders “mop-up” the wildfire.

GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. — Crews are currently on scene in Green Cove Springs fighting a reported wildfire, officials say.

The Florida Forest Service- Jacksonville Forestry Center announced Thursday afternoon that crews were dispatched to a wildfire in the area of Ravenwood Drive along County Road 209. 

In a later update, the Florida Forest Service listed the fire as spanning 10 acres and being 50% contained.

“Jacksonville Forestry Center has stopped all forward progression of the Ravenwood Fire and is currently improving containment lines,” FFS said just after 5 p.m. “Crews will continue to improve containment lines and will begin to perform mop-up procedures. If you are in the area, please exercise caution as crews are still actively engaged.”
