Hit-and-run crash on Dartmoor Street in St. Pete leaves woman dead, police say

According to police, the woman was walking across Dartmoor Street North at Joyce Terrace North when an unknown vehicle struck her.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A 61-year-old woman died after being hit by a vehicle while walking across Dartmoor Street in St. Petersburg late Friday night, according to the St. Pete Police Department.

According to police, at 11:30 p.m., the woman was crossing Dartmoor Street North at Joyce Terrace North when an unknown vehicle struck her.

Police said the driver of the unknown vehicle then fled the scene, as the woman died from her injuries.

SPPD said the incident is actively being investigated.
