Five-star safety Giovanna Tuggle is one of the best players in the 2028 recruiting cycle, and the Florida State Seminoles are working hard to land the Winder, Georgia native. While there is plenty of time to go in his recruitment, his recruitment is starting to heat up, and he has scheduled 11 spring visits with programs across the country.
One of those trips will be to Tallahassee, with him set to visit FSU on March 31, according to Tom Loy of 247Sports. He is also set to visit the Clemson Tigers, Alabama Crimson Tide, Ohio State Buckeyes, Ole Miss Rebels, Georgia Bulldogs, Texas A&M Aggies, Texas Longhorns, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Florida Gators, and Oregon Ducks.
He also discussed all of the schools, and he praised FSU’s history of developing defensive backs.
“Florida State has such a rich football history and has produced so many great defensive backs over the years,” he said. “I’m excited to continue building my relationship with Coach Copper and learn from him as I grow in my recruitment. I didn’t get a chance to visit during the fall, so getting down to Tallahassee this spring will be a great opportunity to experience the program and everything it has to offer firsthand.”
Tuggle is ranked as the No. 10 overall player and No. 1 safety in the 247Sports composite. He is also the No. 1 player from Georgia.
He had a breakout season as a freshman at Winder-Barrow High School, recording 39 tackles and six interceptions in eight games. He was even better as a sophomore, finishing with 74 tackles, four interceptions (one pick-six), five pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 10 games. A special teams star, he also returned a punt and kickoff for a touchdown.
