As the latest government shutdown continues into its second week, the Department of Homeland Security announced it had suspended Global Entry and TSA PreCheck.
However, as of 10:30 a.m., the decision had been rapidly reversed, although the suspension announcement remains live on the DHS website.
Global Entry and TSA PreCheck Suspension

According to the press release from DHS, as of 6 a.m. this morning (February 22): “Ending Transportation Security Administration (TSA) PreCheck® lanes and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Global Entry service, to refocus Department personnel on the majority of travelers.”
For travelers, that means all PreCheck and Global Entry areas will be closed. Rather than going to the separate line, travelers will be directed to the main screening areas. At this time, there is no indication of when both operations will be back and functioning again.
In particular, for travelers used to utilizing PreCheck, be sure to arrive at the airport earlier than usual to accommodate lengthened security wait times. If you’re flying into an airport like Orlando International Airport (MCO), you may be able to check the website for current security wait times.
