GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – The University of Florida Police Department increased the presence of officers on campus on Monday due to threatening emails.
Officials say on Monday, several UF departments received emails threatening the safety of different locations of the campus.
Officers say the threats are consistent with a hoax and are similar to threatening emails sent on Friday evening.
The department has confirmed that there is no threat to safety; however, they are encouraging people to remain vigilant and report anything suspicious to police by calling 352-392-1111.
