A pedestrian crossing Tampa’s Dale Mabry Highway was fatally struck by two vehicles on Saturday night.
TAMPA, Fla. — When a pedestrian tried crossing Dale Mabry Highway in Tampa, he was fatally hit by two cars.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the tragic incident happened around 9:50 p.m. on Saturday.
According to troopers, an 18-year-old pedestrian attempted to cross Dale Mabry Highway on foot and was struck in succession by two cars that were driving north. The crash happened just north of Idlewild Avenue West.
“The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash,” troopers said in a statement.
According to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles’Â crash dashboard, preliminary data shows that in 2026, there have been 2,565 crashes, leaving 1,558 injuries and seven people dead from the crashes.
