February 24, 2026 – Signs were unveiled Tuesday officially re-branding the Bayside Bridge the Dillinger McCabe Bayside Bridge, honoring Robert “Bob” Dillinger – Public Defender for the Sixth Judicial Circuit from 1997 to 2024 – and Bernard “Bernie” McCabe, the State Attorney for Pinellas and Pasco Counties for nearly 30 years. The Pinellas County Board of Commissioners approved a resolution to change the bridge’s name Jan. 20.
