VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRC) – An Ohio man was killed after being struck by a vehicle in the state of Florida.

According to WOFL, citing Florida authorities, a 74-year-old man was killed on Monday after being struck at around 7 p.m. on Big Tree Road in Port Orange, Florida.

A police report obtained by the outlet reportedly states that a 20-year-old man from Daytona Beach was traveling along the roadway in a Toyota Corolla when a pedestrian walked out into the road.

The man was struck and later pronounced dead at the scene, WOFL reported. Authorities confirmed to the outlet that the driver was uninjured in the incident and remained at the scene.

An investigation into the crash remains ongoing, per the report.
