In Tuesday’s ACC Action, Miami beat Florida State, 83-73, and Virginia just walloped NC State again, this time, 90-61, which was a lot worse than the loss in Raleigh on January 3rd. Virginia won that time, 76-61, after State cut into a massive lead late.

Virginia just crushed State. The Wahoos had 12 blocks, with 8 of those coming from Johann Grunloh. But that’s even more impressive, since the big German only played 18 minutes.

The other blocks were all by Ugonna Onyenso.

Virginia held State to 18.2% shooting in the first half. It was just a whuppin, a good old-fashioned ACC beatdown.

There was a bit of a dustup too that saw Scottie Ebube get escorted off the court by security after he shoved a Virginia player really hard.

As we’ve said before, Wade after a loss is highly entertaining, and here’s what he had to say after this one: “This team’s so funky. We practiced well the last couple of days, which I was joking. I said, probably means we’ll play terrible. So, I was right. You just have no feel with this group.”

Kind of a damning comment, really.

Meanwhile, down south, Miami took out the Seminoles after losing six of the last seven games against their rival school. The ‘Canes nearly doubled up the ‘Noles on the boards, winning that battle, 42-23.

Even so, Miami couldn’t escape Florida State until fairly late. This was a four-point game with 4:52 left.

Malik Reanu had another double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Shelton Henderson left the game with a knee issue but returned, so presumably, he’s okay.

Lajae Jones led Florida State with 21 points.

Miami is in third place in the ACC now, incidentally.

Three games on Wednesday as Wake Forest visits BC, Pitt is at Stanford and SMU stops by Cal.
