The Clearwater Tornadoes are taking a road trip to challenge the St. Petersburg Green Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Clearwater is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they’ve averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Clearwater is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 23 runs last Tuesday, they were much more limited against East Lake on Thursday. They fell 7-2 to the Eagles. Clearwater now has a losing record of 2-3. As for St. Petersburg, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
Clearwater was able to grind out a solid win over St. Petersburg in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, winning 5-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tornadoes since the squad won’t have the home-field advantage this time around. We’ll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
