Cape Coral is 0-10 against Mariner since April of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. The Seahawks will head out to face off against the Tritons at 6:30 p.m. Mariner took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Cape Coral, who comes in off a win.

Cape Coral came out on top against Neumann on Monday thanks in part to the team’s impressive four-run fifth inning. The Seahawks took their matchup against the Celtics 8-5.

Emma Brannan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it’s clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn’t tossed less than 12 strikeouts any time she’s pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Taylor Buice, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Brielle Pachick, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

They weren’t the only ones making solid contact: Cape Coral kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That’s the most hits they’ve posted since back in March of 2025.

Meanwhile, Mariner didn’t have quite enough to beat North Fort Myers on Tuesday and fell 5-4. The loss put an end to the Tritons’ undefeated start to the season.

Mariner also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Thiana Condappa gave up five earned runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Calleigh Buzard made the most of her time in the batter’s box despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Another player making a difference was Rylie Moore, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Mariner fell to 2-1. As for Cape Coral, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Cape Coral has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 12.3 strikeouts per game. However, it’s not like Mariner struggles in that department as they’ve been averaging an even more impressive 12.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Cape Coral might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Mariner in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Seahawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We’ll find out soon enough.
