Cape Coral has approved an incentive for a new Marriott TownePlace Suites hotel on Northeast 8th Terrace.The hotel is expected to cost around $29.1 million. On Wednesday, city leaders approved a $2.7 million incentive deal for Continental 779 Fund, LLC for the construction and development of the hotel.The hotel will total 13,500 square feet, have five stories and 112 rooms. Additionally, the hotel will include a $350,000 generator and backup system to keep it operational during emergencies, like hurricanes.The project will create 21 full-time jobs and two part-time jobs. The incentive was passed during Wednesday’s city council meeting, with only Mayor John Gunter and Councilmember Keith Long voting no.
