Tallahassee, FL – The National Weather Service in Tallahassee warns that critically dry conditions will continue this afternoon across southeast Alabama, southwest Georgia, and the Florida Panhandle, with relative humidity dropping as low as 15–30%.
Residents are urged to avoid open flames and follow local burn bans as the combination of low humidity, dry vegetation, and breezy conditions increases the risk of wildfires.
Relief is on the way — rain chances will rise Sunday into Monday as another cold front pushes through the Southeast. Most areas are expected to receive 0.25–0.5 inches of rain, though isolated locations could see up to 1 inch before the system clears the region.
Until then, residents should take fire precautions, avoid outdoor burning, and ensure equipment that can spark fires is used safely.
