Kiaikaika Silva told police he was late for a job interview and did not know he was going that fast, according to the affidavit.
PINELLAS PARK, Fla. — A driver was arrested after Pinellas Park police said he was caught driving 103 mph on U.S. Highway 19.
An officer spotted Kiaikaika Silva driving near Roosevelt Boulevard Thursday morning, traveling at what he believed to be upwards of 100 mph.
Police say Silva, 23, claimed he did not know he was going that fast and told officers he was late for a job interview.Â
Pinellas Park police noted that moderate traffic on the roadway made the high‑speed driving especially dangerous. Silva was released on a $150 bond later that day.Â
