To the editor:

I am a resident of Lee County and I am writing regarding HR22. While election integrity is important, I am concerned that having birth certificate requirements, name change proof and expanded voter challenges could intentionally prevent eligible voters from registering or remaining on the rolls and not being allowed to vote.

Legislators, please ensure that any election legislation protects both security and access for eligible voters, including safeguards to prevent wrongful removals or administrative delays.

Approximately 69 million women have had their name changed through marriage.

Does your paperwork match exactly your current ID?

Do you have your birth certificate?

Does your citizenship paperwork match exactly your current ID?

How many times have you been married and had a name change?

Do you have the paperwork?

I have work to do!

My name and birth certificate do not match my records in my life, I must contact the courts in the county I was raised in. My name was changed when I was 7 years old,  I called the county courthouse in which I lived. My court  records are in the historical archives for the state and my costs  are $35 and the processing fee is 6-8 weeks.  I need the probate court papers.

I have the money and the time to get my records, but what about the people who don’t know about these changes?

I need to find my marriage license, my birth certificate, and court decisions.

I need to put together my name change profile for voting .

Check your voting status now!

Make sure you’re registered to vote in the primaries, special elections and general elections.

Vote, Vote, Vote.
