A brush fire in Cape Coral has closed roads near Kismet Parkway and Andalusia Boulevard on Saturday, Feb. 28.
The roadway is closed from Del Prado Boulevard to Coral Lakes subdivision, with Cape Coral Police saying it likely will remain closed for hours. They made a social media announcement about 1 p.m.

They ask that motorists avoid the area.
According to the U.S. Drought Monitor map, Cape Coral remains in an severe drought.
As of 2 p.m., the fire covered 14 acres and was 40% contained, according to fire officials.
According to The Weather Channel, Cape Coral has a 15% chance of rain Saturday and a 17% chance on Sunday.
