The Lee County School District informed parents of South Fort Myers High School of a lockdown that occurred due to a possible bomb threat on campus.
Lee County deputies responded to the possible bomb threat on Thursday morning. According to the school district, they received a message through the FortifyFL app of a possible bomb on campus.
A lockdown was issued as a precaution to students, but has since been lifted. Lee Schools said the students are safe and there is currently no active threat.
Lee County deputies are actively investigating the scene and will provide updates whenever new information becomes available.
