The Florida State Seminoles are one of the five finalists for wide receiver Nick Lennear, a four-star recruit from Miami, Florida. Despite that, they appear to be trailing another school in his recruitment.

The hometown Miami Hurricanes have emerged as the team to beat, with Chad Simmons and EJ Holland of Rivals both logging predictions for him to commit to Miami. The Hurricanes now have five predictions in their favor, giving them a 98.6% chance to land him, according to the Rivals recruiting prediction machine.

While FSU is one of his top five schools, they have only hosted Lennear on one visit. That visit was last season when they hosted the Virginia Tech Hokies in Doak Campbell Stadium. He has not scheduled an official visit with the Seminoles yet, something he has already done with the Hurricanes.

Lennear is ranked as the No. 24 overall player and No. 6 wide receiver in the Rivals industry ranking. The 6-foot, 165-pounder is also the No. 5 player from Florida.

It would sting to miss out on Lennear, but FSU has several other talented options that offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach Tim Harris Jr. is working to land. Their targets include four-star products Jamarin Simmons, Sean Green, Jabari Watkins, Anthony Jennings, and Cam Wade.
