Tallahassee judge appointed to First District Court of Appeal

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Governor Ron DeSantis announced an appointment to the First District Court of Appeal.

Tallahassee judge Lance Neff will serve as a judge on the First District Court of Appeal, Gov. DeSantis

Neff has served as a judge on the Second Judicial Circuit Court since 2023. He previously served as an attorney for the Florida Department of Corrections.

Neff received his bachelor’s degree from Valdosta State University and his juris doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law.

Judge Neff was overseeing the trial of suspected FSU shooter, Phoenix Ikner.

His appointment to the First District Court of Appeal fills the vacancy left by the elevation of Justice Tanenbaum.
