Is the conflict in the Middle East affecting gas prices?

Experts expect increases at the pump — and they have started.

On Monday, the cost for a gallon of gas in South Florida was up by just a penny from last week. But it’s a different story on Tuesday, March 3.

Prices in the Miami area and across the state have spiked by double digits, and are averaging $3 or more a gallon for the first time this year.

“Looking ahead, markets will now begin reacting to this weekend’s U.S.–Iran attacks,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.
