Authorities have arrested a suspect after a bomb threat was reported at the Hendry County Courthouse on Thursday.
The threat led to a complete evacuation and a thorough search of the premises. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad and their bomb-sniffing dogs conducted a secondary search, but no suspicious packages or devices were found.
By the evening of February 27, Hendry County Criminal Investigation had an arrest warrant and located the suspect, 41-year-old Don Michael Anthony Foligno, at a residence in Cape Coral.
Foligno was arrested after witnesses reported that he made the bomb threat call to postpone his court appearance scheduled for that morning.
He was initially taken to the Lee County Jail and later transferred to the Hendry County Jail on March 3, 2026. Foligno faces charges of making a false report of a bomb and using a communication device to facilitate a felony.
The incident underscores that making a bomb threat is indeed “no joke.”
