People are sleeping on this super underrated Universal Orlando restaurant!

Confisco Grille can be found in Islands of Adventure’s Port of Entry and is sometimes an overlooked establishment for guests looking to jump right into this incredible theme park. This restaurant serves up Asian, Mediterranean, and Greek eats like Noodle Bowls, Pad Thai, Sweet and Sour Sticky Ribs, and a full bar service — and we can’t wait to tell you about some of the things we tried!

In total, we tried three popular items, starting with the Herb Roasted Corvina Fillet for $29.95!

Herb Roaster Corvina Filet

This warm dish is pan-roasted with a chimichurri marinade, Parmesan, spinach orzo salad, baby heirloom tomatoes, and a tangy lemon butter sauce. Our server recommended this to us, and we’re so glad he did — because this fish was AWESOME!

It was cooked and fell apart on the fork, but the skin was so deliciously crispy. The herbaceousness of the chimichurri marinade was really apparent on the fish by itself, but was elevated by the tangy lemon butter sauce.

SOOO GOOD!

Wow…that sauce… it was something you’d find in a fine-dining restaurant and an unbelievable value. It was rich and buttery, with the perfect balance of acidity from the lemon. The restaurant even adds drops of an herb oil that heightens the complexity of flavors.

A few little tomatoes give off a pop of brightness to break up the butter when you need it, and it’s EXCELLENTLY balanced. Even the orzo was incredible! Wonderfully cooked and plated in a little cylinder, this side also comes with deliciously bitter spinach that mingles with the sharp cheesiness of the Parmesan. We were so impressed and can’t recommend this enough!

We’re 10/10 getting this again

To drink, we tried the Mango Lassi for $12. This is made with a refreshing blend of plain yogurt, mango nectar, and mango syrup, topped with a dried slice of mango.

Mango Lassi

We’re OBSESSED with this mocktail! Mango Lassi is traditionally made with yogurt, fresh mangoes, sugar, and — sometimes — spices. Instead, this one has yogurt, mango nectar (AKA juice), and mango syrup in lieu of fresh mangoes and sugar — so it’s not perfectly authentic. With that said, it was delicious!

Ours was perfectly drinkable despite the thickness of the yogurt, which also added enough creamy texture to make it sipable through a straw. There was A TON of mango flavor, and we loved the touch of the dried mango pieces on top. Refreshing during a hot theme park day, this wonderful Mango Lassi is also available at the walk-up Backwater Bar next door.

Loved it!

Finally, for dessert, we got the Cookie Butter Cake for $9.95. This treat is made with layers of brown butter cake, cookie butter mousse, and butter cream icing.

Cookie Butter Cake

Exclusive to Confisco Grille, this dessert is the kind of thing people would lose their minds over if we were in a cookie butter craze. We were expecting it to be cloyingly sweet like a lot of other cookie butter treats, but it was appropriately sweet without overdoing it. Our cake was perfectly moist and had a pleasant density while still feeling light — kind of like a really good angel food cake.

Do you want a slice?

The cookie butter mousse was a great move because it gives you all the punch of flavor from cookie butter without an abundance of heaviness. And the thick layers of mousse were FANTASTIC. Gorgeous, wonderfully executed, and perfectly balanced, the only downside of this treat is that it’s not exactly shareable, since you’ll likely want one all to yourself.

Look at those layers!

Everyone talks about Mythos as Islands of Adventure’s best restaurant, but we think Confisco Grille should be in the running. You can easily walk up and get a table here at almost any time, and the food is SO GOOD — including everything we tried in our latest visit!

Confisco Grille

It’s not quite as cool from an atmospheric and theming perspective as Mythos, but the vibes of an adventurer’s hangout with trinkets and decor that have been collected from all the ports add an extra level of ambience that makes this place special. Upscale with INCREDIBLE service but very approachable in price, and not a problematic time commitment, Cinfisco Grille is 1,000 percent worth a visit!
