Fans of high energy performances are in for a treat as the Village of Key Biscayne Concert Series will be presenting the popular Ronin Taiko, a Japanese-drum (taiko) performance troupe based in South Florida.
In addition to energizing the crowd, the Ronin Taiko Drummers are known for combining the powerful sound of taiko drums with synchronized movement, visual flair and often theatrical storytelling. They specialize in wadaiko (traditional Japanese ensemble drumming) and have blended that tradition with theatrical performance elements, movement, drama and stage presence. The special Village performance includes a shakuhachi bamboo flute and a fire show.
They have also developed a strong following due to their audience accessibility and Island residents can expect loud resonant drums, dramatic choreography, strong physical presence and a show rather than just a concert.
To make the event even more special, there will be food trucks at the event, with food served by Wholly Smokes BBQ Food Truck. Residents can also bring their own picnic items and bring blankets or low beach chairs to set up on the grass. The Village will provide a limited number of chairs, available on a first-come-first-served-basis.
