Cape Coral City Council approved an increase in the annual amount for emergency and standard roadway patching with Pavement Maintenance LLC from $800,000 to $1.6 million for the duration of a contract ending March 2, 2029.

Council hired Pavement Maintenance in 2023 to make timely repairs to roads and sidewalks impacted by underground utility failures, according to meeting documents. In September 2025, Council renewed the contract.

The company’s services are essential to prevent further deterioration, traffic safety and flow while the volume of emergency repairs has grown in recent months, city officials said. While emergency repairs are difficult to forecast and estimate, staff said the increase will ensure funding is available to maintain uninterrupted roadway patching services.  Â
