CCSO issues trespass orders for Cook Brown Road, Power Lines area

  • March 6, 2026

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office has issued blanket trespass orders for areas around Cook Brown Road and a location referred to as the “Power Lines,” the agency announced.

The sheriff’s office cited recent disturbances in the area as the reason for the orders, including the use of recreational motorized vehicles and loud parties.

The agency also referenced a disturbance “during which an individual was shot with a firearm,” according to the alert. The alert did not provide details about when the shooting occurred, where it took place, whether anyone was injured, or whether arrests were made.

CCSO also warned that campfires remain prohibited under the county burn ban.

Deputies will begin stepped-up enforcement in the area starting March 7, 2026. People who do not have authorization to be on the property “may be subject to arrest,” the alert said.
