March 6, 2026 – The Tampa General Hospital Foundation announced a $10 million gift from Amscot Financial founder Ian MacKechnie and his wife, Jean, to establish the Ian & Jean MacKechnie Immunotherapy Lab. The 8,000-square-foot facility will be located in the USF Health building in downtown Tampa, and support research focused on harnessing the immune system to fight cancer and other diseases. Part of the donation will also support construction of Tampa General’s Taneja Surgical, Neuroscience & Transplant Tower.
