LEE COUNTY, Fla. (WINK) — Fire crews responded to a 3-acre brush fire in a Lee County neighborhood near North Fort Myers, authorities said Saturday.
The Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District said the fire was started by a lawnmower and spread across a nearby canal, but all structures in the area were unaffected.
Lehigh Fire said the fire is out and that neighbors are expected to smell smoke “for a while.”
Neighbors are encouraged to call 911 for fires occurring outside of the burn area.
