CORAL GABLES, Fla. — No. 23 University of North Carolina women’s soccer (10-6, 4-4 ACC) fell 2-1 to Miami (7-8-2, 1-7-1 ACC) Thursday night at Cobb Stadium.
Both offenses struggled to maintain possession of the ball in the first half. Through 45 minutes, UNC held Miami without a shot attempt. The game remained knotted at 0-0 heading into the break.
Miami recorded the first goal of the day at the 50 minute mark to take the lead.Â
Linda Ullmark later netted the equalizer from assists by Kate Faasse and Olivia Thomas.Â
Just 10 minutes later the Hurricanes reclaimed the lead off a goal from Cisel Akguel.
Carolina was unable to record a goal the rest of the way resulting in a 2-1 loss.Â
