A woman was found dead late Saturday after officers responded to a reported shooting in the Gum Branch Road area in Jacksonville.
Officers were called at 10:23 p.m. on March 7 to Gum Branch Road at Williamsburg Parkway. When they arrived, they found a deceased female with an apparent gunshot wound, according to the report.
A male was at the scene and was detained. The case remains an active homicide investigation, and additional information is expected to be released when it becomes available.
