Award-winning national security correspondent JJ Green will visit Key Biscayne on Tuesday, March 10, to discuss his new book “The Noise War: How to Find the Truth When Everything Is Lying to You.”
Green has been a longtime journalist with Washington, D.C. ‘s WTOP-FM, and is a contributor to WJLA-TV ABC News. He has spent more than three decades covering international security, military affairs and U.S. politics. His reporting from war zones and high-level government circles forms the foundation of his latest book, which examines the growing threat of disinformation in the digital age.
In “The Noise War,” Green argues that modern information warfare, from AI-generated deepfakes to coordinated online manipulation campaigns, is reshaping how people perceive reality. The book is designed as a practical guide, offering readers tools to evaluate sources, recognize emotional manipulation and slow the spread of misinformation without amplifying it.
Green describes the book as a concise “field manual” intended for students, professionals, civic leaders and everyday citizens seeking clarity in an increasingly polarized information environment.
The free public event will take place at 7 p.m., in the Lighthouse Room at the Key Biscayne Community. At 6:30 p.m., a wine and cheese reception will precede the presentation.
Admission is free, but attendees are encouraged to RSVP by visiting the Community Center front desk or calling (305) 365-8900.
