MIAMI, Fla. (CBS12) — A trooper shot a woman with a child in her car after she allegedly stabbed him in the neck and head during a reckless-driving stop in Miami.

Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol say they were dispatched to the westbound lanes of State Road 836 at 5:30 a.m. on Saturday for reports of a reckless driver.

Upon arrival, the trooper reportedly located the car in a grassy center median and made contact with the woman behind the wheel, who also had a young child in the car.

During the course of the trooper’s conversation with the unidentified woman, she allegedly pulled out a knife and repeatedly stabbed him in the neck, head, and shoulder, per FHP. Both the trooper and the woman were transported to HCA Kendall Trauma.
