Women’s Tennis Begins Florida Road Trip with USF on Monday

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women’s tennis team travels down south for Tampa, Florida to face off Against South Florida on Monday at 1 p.m.

The team is coming off a busy weekend. Last Saturday the Quakers swept Lehigh, 7-0. Then on Sunday, they fell to Maryland, 6-1. Their overall season record is now 6-5 heading into the next match. 

* Penn won all singles and doubles matches against Lehigh, including a two-set win by Lara Stojanovski in the one spot. 

* Liza Tkachenko and Varsha Vedula also saw victories in both singles and doubles. 

* Against Maryland Penn’s fortunes reversed with only one singles victory by Varsha Vedula. 

*Penn was ranked No. 57 in the latest ITA team rankings.
