FSU started spring practice on Monday morning as Mike Norvell reasserts control of the FSU offense and program.

“Today is what you want from a first day,” said Norvell. “(You want to) see a team that will come out and take that information and the install and work to play fast.”

Norvell also added that FSU will be without a trio of players during spring. Jordan Sanders, who transferred in from Texas State will return for summer work. Freshman Cam Brooks is likely out until midseason. Freshman QB Jaden O’Neal will be out for the entire season due to an injury sustained in high school.

FSU will resume practice on Wednesday.

FSU begins spring football on the week of March 7 and will conclude on April 15.

FSU is 7-17 in its last two seasons under Norvell and 38-34 overall in six years. They open the 2026 season vs. New Mexico State on August 29.
