Michelangelo’s famed frescoes are heading to Fort Lauderdale as the globally acclaimed touring experience, Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition, opens March 12 at Galleria Fort Lauderdale. The installation reimagines the Vatican’s crown jewel at full scale, allowing guests to take in every detail of masterpieces such as “The Creation of Adam” and “The Last Judgment” without crowds.
The showcase, seen by millions worldwide, features all 34 ceiling and altar masterpieces, recreated using high‑resolution imagery and advanced printing techniques. Without time limitations, visitors move at their own pace through the expansive installation.
“Galleria Fort Lauderdale is excited to bring this globally recognized exhibition to South Florida for residents and visitors to enjoy in tandem with great shopping and dining,” Tatiana Juarez, regional marketing director at Galleria Fort Lauderdale, says.
The exhibition, which has toured the world and earned widespread praise for its accessibility, includes informative signage and an optional audio guide for those wanting a deeper understanding of Michelangelo’s process, symbolism and influence.
“Whether you’re an art lover, history enthusiast or someone encountering this masterpiece for the first time, this exhibition allows you to experience Michelangelo’s genius in an intimate and unforgettable way,” Martin Biallas, CEO of SEE Global Entertainment, says.
A recent visitor to the exhibit shared how the experience offered a rare chance to “experience the artistry and talent and spiritual insight of Michelangelo” up close. “I doubt that I may ever have the opportunity to visit the real Sistine Chapel,” he says, “so this exhibit gave me an informative and beautiful representation of what I might see.”
Presented by SEE Global Entertainment in partnership with SBX Group, the exhibition runs through June 14 at Galleria Fort Lauderdale.
