An alleged drug dealer was arrested after he was accused of locking up a customer inside a storage unit in Davie for months, authorities said.

According to an arrest affidavit, Davie Police had responded to the Access Self Storage at 7000 Southwest 22nd Court on March 1 after a caller said someone was locked in a unit, screaming and asking for medical attention.

Fire rescue responded, cut the lock and found the 58-year-old victim inside of the bay, which “was in complete disarray and had a foul smell coming from several five gallon buckets” that were filled with the man’s feces and urine, the affidavit said.

The man explained that his drug dealer, who he knew as “Tray,” had locked him in the unit since November 2025, and he was taken to a local hospital for treatment, the affidavit said.

According to the affidavit, the victim said he had recently become homeless and started to binge on crack and fentanyl and met a dealer, “Tray,” who would sell him crack and fentanyl.

He said he would pay for the drugs when he received his benefit payments from the Veterans Association, about $7,000 monthly, which he spent on drugs and hotel rooms.

The man said “Tray” would rent him rooms using a card with the name Oscar Badger, and said he ended up owing “Tray” $3,000, the affidavit said.

He said “Tray” had a “fellow vagrant” take him to an apartment in Lauderhill where he was badly beaten, the affidavit said.

The man said he reached out to “Tray” to again purchase drugs and “Tray” put him in the storage unit and gave him drugs, adding that he was locked inside the unit and unable to escape, the affidavit said.

He said “Tray” took his bank and VA cards and would come to the unit and force him to call his bank to raise his withdrawal limit, and would then drive him to the bank to withdraw money from his accounts, which “Tray” would keep, the affidavit said.

Badger was determined to be the person who rented the unit, and the victim identified Badger as the man who put him in the storage unit, the affidavit said.

Jail records showed Badger remained behind bars without bond on Tuesday. Attorney information wasn’t available.
