A man is facing charges after authorities said they found child pornography on his phone during a search at Miami International Airport.

Martin Esho, 33, was arrested on charges including possession of visual depictions involving the sexual exploitation of minors and transportation of visual depictions involving the sexual exploitation of minors, according to a federal criminal complaint.

According to the complaint, March 7, Esho entered the U.S. at Miami International Airport on a flight from Medellin, Colombia on Saturday and was selected for secondary inspection by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

A search of his iPhones turned up child sexual abuse material in a password protected hidden section of the photo gallery, the complaint said.

Esho was interviewed by investigators and said he downloads videos from the internet and child sexual abuse videos get downloaded “inadvertently” but when he notices them he deletes them, the complaint said.

He said he transfers all downloaded videos into the hidden gallery and said he’d previously viewed some of the videos but claimed he forgot to delete them, the complaint said.

Records showed Esho was arrested and booked into a Broward County jail.
