TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – This weekend is “Pick a Pupkin” – which means people can adopt pets for free at the Tallahassee Animal Service Center. The first 25 adopters will also get a free pumpkin.
People can adopt pets for free this weekend during Pick a Pupkin!(WCTV)
Kennels will be open from 10am until 5pm Saturday and Sunday.
Furry Friday is a collaboration between WCTV and the Tallahassee Animal Service Center designed to get dogs out of their kennels and into the spotlight in hopes of helping them find fur-ever homes faster.
Here are the dogs we are featuring this week:
MEET BETSY
This adventure loving pup has one of the softest, most luxurious coats ever!(WCTV)
Meet Betsy.
This shepherd hound mix is a happy handful!
Betsy was in hog heaven, or maybe we should say dog heaven, walking the trails and enjoying all the sights, sounds and smells along the way.
Betsy was actually found wandering alone on a hiking trail in North Carolina, but the people who found her could not locate her family.
Betsy loves outdoor adventures and car rides.
The 7-month-old pup has one of the softest, most luxurious coats ever and she’d be a great snuggler if you can get her to slow down for a moment!

MEET FURNANDO
This joy boy likes cats and dogs and can’t wait to join an active affectionate family like yours!(WCTV)
Meet Furnando.
Get it? “Fur”nando. Okay.
This young man has a motto: so many sticks, so little time!
Furnando enjoys running and playing and sticks – fetching them and chewing on them!
He has a taste for treats and would love to be a lap dog one day too!
This joy boy likes cats and dogs and can’t wait to join an active, affectionate family!

MEET KEKE
Keke isn’t just laid back, she’s leisurely.(WCTV)
Meet Keke. Sweet Keke.
This English bulldog isn’t just laid back, she’s leisurely.
With expressive eyes that seem to say ‘I’ve seen some things,’ Keke is into people watching, couch surfing, porch sitting, and perhaps lounging at your feet at an outdoor cafe.
Keke is into peace and quiet and companionship. If you’re looking for a best friend just like that, you can visit Keke at the shelter this weekend!
MEET DUNDEE
Dundee is into toys, treats and play dates!(WCTV)
Meet Dundee.
This soft, sweet pup will climb right into your lap and mesmerize you with her deep blue eyes.
Dundee is a husky mix who is anxious to explore the great outdoors and the big wide world with you.
She is into toys, treats and play dates.
She is polite and social and is still trying to make sense of a cat named Henry, who tagged along on our walk.
You can meet Dundee at the shelter this weekend!
MEET AND GREET
You can meet these dogs and dozens more awaiting adoption at the Tallahassee Animal Service Center. It’s located across from Tom Brown Park at 1125 Easterwood Drive in Tallahassee.
This weekend as part of “Pick a Pupkin” all adoption fees and kennels will be open special hours from 10am to 5pm.
