CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced its 2025-26 men’s basketball awards today, and Miami University was well-represented after producing one of the most successful seasons in program and MAC history.
Head Coach Travis Steele was a unanimous selection as MAC Coach of the Year, while Peter Suder was named MAC Player of the Year and earned First-Team honors. Brant Byers received a spot on the All-MAC Second Team, Eian Elmer was selected to the All-MAC Second Team, Luke Skaljac was placed on the All-MAC Third Team and Antwone Woolfolk was recognized as All-MAC Honorable Mention.
Steele is the first coach for the Red and White to take MAC Coach of the Year since Charlie Coles received the award in 2005. This season, Miami moved into the national rankings for the first time since Feb. 15, 1999 and currently sits at No. 20 in the polls. Miami set a new program record for wins in a season, breaking the mark of 25 established last year. The RedHawks also hold the program record for most consecutive road wins overall (15) and in a season (14). Miami has secured the best start for a program in MAC history, the most consecutive conference wins in MAC history and the longest win streak in MAC history. The 31-0 RedHawks are just the fifth program this century (NCAA Division I) to go undefeated during regular season play.
Suder becomes the seventh player in Miami program history and the first since Michael Bramos in 2009 to be named MAC Player of the Year. Suder, a two-time captain and Miami’s leading scorer (14.8 ppg), earned All-MAC First Team honors for the second consecutive season. He stands at 11th in the MAC in field goal percentage (.556), eighth in three-point percentage (.420), ninth in assists (3.9), 10th in assist/turnover ratio (2.1) and 10th in steals (1.4). Suder ranks 54th in the country from the field at 55.6% as well.
Coming off of a rookie season where he received MAC Freshman of the Year and MAC All-Freshman Team honors, Byers earned All-MAC Second Team this winter after averaging 14.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 0.6 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.3 blocks. He ranks 11th in the MAC in three-point field goal percentage (.409), 11th in free throw percentage (.782), 15th in scoring (14.1), tied for 15th in three-point field goals per game (2.0) and 21st in field goal percentage (.491).
EIan Elmer was selected All-MAC Second Team after averaging 12.5 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.2 steals, 1.1 assists and 0.7 blocks. Elmer is third in the conference in three-point field goal percentage (.434), tied for 15th in three-point field goals per game (2.0), 16th in blocked shots (0.7), 18th in field goal percentage (.504) and tied for 20th in steals.
Skaljac had a breakout season in 2025-26, claiming All-MAC Third Team honors after averaging 10.3 points, 4.7 assists, 3.1 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 0.2 blocks. Skaljac sits at third in the conference in assist/turnover ratio (2.6), sixth in assists and 12th in steals (1.4). He also ranks 56th nationally in assist/turnover ratio.
Woolfolk earned All-MAC Honorable Mention after totaling 10.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.7 blocks. He was third in the MAC in field goal percentage (.629), ninth in steals (1.4), 15th in blocks (0.7) 17th in rebounding (5.5).
