CLAY COUNTY, Fla — Drivers planning on taking the Shands Bridge to their destination Wednesday or early Thursday should expect to see “significant delays,” the Florida Department of Transportation told First Coast News.

In a traffic advisory, FDOT said as part of bridge maintenance activities, lane closures with a “flagging operation” are currently in place on the bridge and are expected to last through the early morning hours Thursday.

Drivers should seek alternate routes if possible.
