Stardust Racers was originally scheduled for a short refurbishment from February 19 — 22. This was extended through February 28, and then again through March 14. Now, Inside Universal is reporting that Stardust Racers will remain closed through April 5.

This means the original planned three-day closure is now going on 45 days (and counting?). At this time, the reasons for the ongoing extensions have not been shared publicly by Universal.

In January, Stardust Racers was closed for several days after the trains “valleyed” during testing and became stuck due to unusually high winds. A crane was brought in to recover the trains from their stuck positions on the track. The ride was closed for three days after the incident.

Epic Universe has been open for almost a year, but is still not operating at full capacity.
