CAPE CORAL, Fla.–A driver is on the run after crashing into a pole, causing a power outage for hundreds in Cape Coral overnight.
The incident occurred just before 1 a.m. Thursday morning on Gator Circle. The car flipped on its side, landing just inches from a front door.
Cape Coral police informed WINK News that the driver fled the scene after the crash.
Just a few hours ago, 261 people in northeast Cape Coral were affected by power outages.Â

The LCEC map indicates that power should be restored in the early morning hours.
