MIAMI — A SLAM! Miami student was struck by a City of Miami ambulance Friday morning while crossing the street near the school, officials from the charter school confirmed in a statement.
According to the statement, first responders immediately responded to the scene near 542 NW 12th Ave. and the student was transported to the hospital.
“Our thoughts are with the student and their family during this difficult time,” the statement continued. “The school is in contact with the family and offering support. At this point, we are focused on the student’s well-being and are unable to share additional details.”
A spokesperson for Miami Fire Rescue is heading to the scene to share the latest updates on the accident with the media.
