PLANTATION, Fla. — Plantation police are assisting Florida Highway Patrol troopers after a subject bailed from a vehicle Thursday afternoon, leaving a child behind, authorities said.
According to PPD officers, a perimeter has been set up in the area of Flamingo Road and State Road 84 as they work to locate the subject.
K-9 units and the department’s Drone Unit are also assisting in the search.
Police later confirmed that the perimeter was cleared and the precautionary lockdown at American Heritage School was lifted.
They said the subject was not located, but there is no threat to the public.

No other details were immediately released.
