To the editor:
I have read numerous letters to the editor saying “attacking Iran is not necessary.” I just shake my head in wonder. Iran is the primary nation supporting terrorism. They have been at war with America for 47 years and killed 1,000 Americans. They seek to destroy us and take over the Middle East and were weeks away from making their first nuclear bomb.
Iran’s support of terrorists includes making drones, missiles and road-side bombs by the thousands. Terrorists certainly don’t have factories to make weapons. Iran also sells many such weapons to Russia to be used against Ukraine.
I did a search on the internet and found three pages of incidents of Iran assisted attacks that killed Americans since November of 1979, the time when Iran took American hostages. The article listed over 40 times that Iran has been involved in attacking and killing Americans. This was just a partial record of Iranian’s blood-soaked war on Americans. Remember, Iran through the Islamic Jihad killed 17 Americans in April of 1983 with a car bomb at our Beirut embassy, killed 241 U.S. military in a truck bombing at a marine compound October of 1983.
As recently as 2023 and 2024. They killed and wounded hundreds of American service members through their terrorist proxies using Iranian bombs and weapons.
Iran responded to our attack by sending missiles to kill civilians and innocents not just against Israel but against Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Iraq, Jordan Oman, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Biden and Obama (Kerry was his emissary) signed agreements with Iran but Iran continued designing and enriching uranium and building weapons for terrorists and Russia to use. Biden and Obama also sent $billions of American cash to Iran which they used to make weapons and support terrorists.
The mullahs pursuit of hate has made Iranians poor and without freedoms. The Iranian people mounted protests but Khomeini’s regime murdered 30,000 of their own citizens just in the last few months.
Trump has tried to negotiate an agreement with Iran since he took office and Iran would not halt their terrorists and nuclear bomb manufacturing capability.
The decision then was one of two:
• Be like Obama and Biden. Believe Iran will change and stop their intensive effort to kill Americans and others including Europeans and even those in the Middle East countries or
• Take action while Iran has no nuclear bomb to destroy millions.
Those who are our military actions must be in one of several categories:
• They have done no research on Iran’s attacks
• They side with terrorists all over the world and even with the recent terrorist immigrants that arrived through Biden’s open borders
• They hate Trump and that is more important than America.
I suggest that they become patriotic instead of trying to destroy democracy in the United States!
