MIAMI, Fla. (CBS12) — An 11-year-old girl was taken to the hospital after being struck by an ambulance early Friday morning in Miami, our news partners CBS Miami reported.
According to CBS Miami, police confirmed that the girl was struck around 542 NW 12th Ave., right near SLAM Miami charter school and just a few blocks from LoanDepot Park.

The school confirmed she is a student there, adding that they are currently in touch with her family to provide support during this challenging time.
One onlooker described the scene to CBS Miami as shocking, stating, “It looked like the girl was a little careless. I saw her running across the street; she could not stop, and it was too late for the ambulance to stop, too.” However, another witness mentioned that the girl seemed alert and responsive immediately after the incident, although police have not yet revealed her current condition.
In response to the accident, Miami police have closed NW 12 Ave. between NW 4th and 7th Streets as they continue their investigation into the crash, urging drivers to exercise caution in the area.
