ORANGE PARK, Fla. – With spring break starting next week, students in Clay County have one more day of classes before the holiday, and the Orange Park Police Department says it is working to head off rumors of an unauthorized event planned for Friday night that could draw large numbers of unsupervised juveniles.
The Orange Park Police Department said that its officers are aware of the rumors and are planning increased patrols and outreach to prevent any unsafe gatherings, particularly around the Get Air trampoline park.
Police warned that unsanctioned events with large groups of teens have the potential to become dangerous, and they urged parents to stay aware of their children’s plans and to talk with them about safe choices.
Clay County officials encouraged residents to download the SaferWatch app to receive the latest law enforcement notifications and updates in real time.
The Orange Park Police Department encouraged parents to talk with teens about plans for spring break and remind them to make responsible choices.
They also encouraged reporting suspicious or large unsupervised gatherings to local law enforcement through nonemergency channels or the SaferWatch app.
