BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Cheyenne Rowe recorded a 25-point, 11-rebound double-double as No. 6 UTSA defeated No. 3 South Florida, 62-51, in the quarterfinals of the 2026 American Women’s Basketball Championship on Thursday afternoon at Legacy Arena at the BJCC in Birmingham, Alabama.
With the win, the Roadrunners (16-15) advance to face No. 2 East Carolina in the semifinals on Thursday, March 12, at 9 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. CT on ESPN+. It marks the second time in three years that UTSA has advanced to the semifinals of the tournament (2024).
Rowe helped guide the Roadrunners to a first half lead over the Bulls, scoring 14 of the 30 points scored. While neither team connected on a three-pointer in the first half, UTSA shot 45.2 percent from the floor to take the eight-point halftime lead into the locker room.
Eurana Hardaway came alive in the second half for the Roadrunners, scoring all 12 of her points on 4-of-6 shooting, while Rowe added 11 to her total to extend the lead for UTSA.
A trio of Bulls reached double-figures, led by L’or Mputu who scored 16 points and came down with 10 rebounds. Carla Brito added 14 points, while Edyn Battle contributed 10 points.
